Arulmigu Athimoorkkamman Temple

Arulmigu athimoorkkamman temple is as sub temple of arulmigu patteeswaraswamy temple. This temple is located south west of arulmigu patteeswaraswamy temple. once in a dance contest between goddess kali and lord siva, lord siva had performed uthira thandavam. Goddess Kali was not able to perform the uthira thandavam being so she lost the dance contest. In order to resolve her sin of the same goddess kali performed thapas towards pattiperuman in the name of athimoorkkamman in perur and also to witness the anantha thandam of lord sivaperuman. Further goddess kali prayed to sivaperuman, she should be blessed that, to be the first person to witness that anantha thandavam forever, the same was blessed to her. For her prayer lord siva had given his half to her in order to witness the thandavam forever. The above incident is a love quarrel between kali and lord siva, the above love quarrel is an important event in the 10th day of the panguni uthira festival every year.
