This temple is one of the sub temple of the Arulmigu Patteeswaraswamy Thirukovil of Perur. The History of the temple is mostly associated with the perur puranam. This temple is situated to the north of the arulmigu Patteeswarasamy temple . Once lord bramma devar was in deep meditation. After the meditation he was trying to create the world being forgotted the vedic way, he couldn’t able to create the world. Immediately bramma devar prayed towards lord siva in order to resolve is mistake. Lord siva to bramma devar `asked bramma devar go to Kongu desam where in which western side in thiruperur beneath the banyan tree, in silver ambalam (Velli ambalam) me as pattinathar , where in which lord vishnu as komuni and kalavamunivar were doing thapas and you also do thapas there in and to see the Thandavam on Panguni uthiram day you will get solicitation`. Immediately lord bramma came to perur as pattimuni and had holy bath in kanchima river and he installed a sivalingam to the north of the pattinathar . Lord bramma devar by using the kamandala poured holy water and did archana, yagam and he did thapas for vedic thousand long years towards the pattinathar. After doing all this, he witnessed the anantha dhandavam of patti peruman and went back to his place. The place sivalingam installed by the bramma devar is known as vadakailayam temple and sivalingam is known as kailasanathar, the holy theertham is known as bramma theertham or kundikai theertham and the place in which yagam performed known as thiruneerumedu.
இத்திருக்கோயில் கோவை மாவட்டம் பேரூர் அருள்மிகு பட்டீசுவரசுவாமி திருக்கோயிலின் உபகோயிலாக விளங்குகிறது. இத்திருக்கோயில் வரலாறு பேரூர் புராணத்தோடு சேர்ந்தது. இத்திருக்கோயில் பேரூர் கோயிலின் வடதிசையில் உள்ளது.உலக உயிர்களை படைக்கும் தொழிலை மேற்கொண்டுள்ள ப்ரம்மதேவர் யோக நித்திரையிலிருந்து விழித்து உலகத்தை படைக்க எண்ணிய போது நித்திரையிலிருந்து விழித்து உலகத்தை படைக்க எண்ணிய போது வேதங்களின் முறையை மறந்தமையால் படைப்பு கைகூடவில்லை. உடனே ப்ரம்மதேவர் சிவபெருமானைச் சார்ந்து வருந்தி தன் பிழையை பொறுத்தருள வேண்டினார். பெருமான் கொங்கு தேசத்தின் மேற்கு திசையில் இருக்கும் திருப்பேரூரில் அரசமர அடியில் வெள்ளியம்பலத்திலே தாம் பட்டிநாதர் என்ற பெயரில் எழுந்தருளியுள்ளதாகவும் அங்கே விஷ்ணு கோமுனியாக காலவமுனிவருடன் தவமியற்றி வருவதாகவும் நீயும் அங்கு சென்று தவமியற்றி பங்குனி உத்தர ஆனந்த தாண்டவத்தை தரிசித்து வரங்கள் பல பெறலாம் என்று திருவாய் மலர்ந்தருள்கிறார். உடனே பரம்மதேவர் பட்டிமுனியாகி பேரூரை அடைந்து காஞ்சிமாநதியில் நீராடி ஸ்ரீ பட்டிநாதருக்கு வடக்கிலே ஒரு லிங்கத்தை நிர்மாணித்து தனது கமண்டலத்தை தீர்த்தமாக்கி அர்ச்சனைகள் புரிந்து முக்தியை தரக்கூடிய யாகம் ஒன்றையும் வளர்த்து ஆயிரம் தேவ வருஷம் தவம் செய்து பின்நாளில் ஸ்ரீ பட்டிபெருமானின் ஆனந்த தாண்டவத்தை தரிசித்து தன்னுலகம் சேர்ந்தார். அவரால் நிர்மாணிக்கப்பட்ட கோயில் வடகைலாயம் எனவும் சுவாமி கைலாஸ நாதர் எனவும் தீர்த்தம் ப்ரம்ம தீர்த்தம் எனவும் யாகம் வளர்த்த இடம் திருநீற்று மேடு எனவும் பெயராயிற்று
